What do you keep in there…?

Random Thoughts


I was skimming some blog posts on Freshly Pressed and came across a title the piqued my interest. I have no idea what the post was about because my thoughts started their normal rampage sending me into a dozen different directions.  The title of the post was What three things do you keep in your fridge?  Well for me I would not be able to limit it to three things, the more I thought the more I decided that my playing with my food would be hampered a fair amount if I didn’t have at least the following in my fridge all the time.

1 qt of Heavy Cream

1/2 Gal of Half and Half

4-5lbs of real butter (Ok it’s actually stored in the freezer)

12-18 eggs

1 pkg each of fresh Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano and Marjoram

1 lb bacon

large chunk of REAL Parm (not the green can stuff BLEACK!)

Large block of Ex. Sharp Cheddar

1/2 gal buttermilk.

2-3 cartons of Creme Fraiche

2-3 tubes garlic paste

Celery Hearts

Bella Mushrooms

These are just the bare bones basics, I have lots of  “really nice to haves” stuffed in that chill chest as well things like Serrano peppers, Camembert, pickled jalapenos and Pineapple Orange juice.   This thought process then got me to thinking…what do ye who populate WikiJanCooks keep as MUST HAVES in their fridge?

So fess up what do you HAVE to have in the fridge all the time?
